QDION Company, being one of the divisions of the famous FSP company, is mainly engaged in the production of power supplies and various adapters for computer equipment. Initially, QDION brand products were aimed at large system integrators and PC builders. The first power supplies of this brand were developed according to their needs, therefore, they were based on principles such as practicality, sufficiency, reliability. Power supplies of this series were distinguished by a more affordable price, while providing the necessary level of quality and covering the basic needs for mass production of PCs in the corporate, primary and middle segments. Very quickly, QDION power supplies gained popularity and firmly established their niche both in the segment of mass production of PCs, and among ordinary users and enthusiasts. Over time, when the market was flooded with cheap power supply models under “No Name” type brands, QDION devices were favorably distinguished by their reliability and at the same time comparable price, since FSP guarantees its partners that its products have optimal characteristics and guarantee high reliability of manufactured devices. Today, FSP has launched the third generation of QDION units on the market and in this review we will talk about the universal adapter for laptops – QDION QD-65W. This model has long been on the market and for all this time has undergone several changes, both external and related to the internal filling. We also look at the QDION QD-C65, which is a universal charger suitable for charging USB Type-C laptops, smartphones and tablets.
The QDION QD-65W power supply comes in a simple, small package. This model is a universal power supply that is suitable for most modern laptops and ultrabooks with an input voltage of 19 V. On the packaging you can see all the connectors that are supported by this model. In addition, on the back of the package there is a fairly detailed compatibility table. Some of the information is presented only in English, but most of the texts have been translated into Russian.

Power supplies have a standard equipment for universal models, which consists of the adapter itself, nine different connectors, a network cable and a brief instruction manual.
In appearance, this is a standard switching power supply for a laptop with an output voltage of 19.5 V designed for popular inexpensive models of laptops and ultrabooks. It should be said right away that since the power of this unit is 65 W, it is not suitable for gaming laptop models. The case is standard, no different from typical for laptops. There is an indicator of work and a brief description on the back.
The voltage from the original 19.5 V almost smoothly drops to 18.5 V. The power supply operates silently even at full power. When working under load (about 65 watts) it does not get too hot – 40-45 ° C. The power supply turns off when the load exceeds 67 W (a more powerful laptop model was connected, requiring a power adapter of 80 W or higher).
In the event of a short circuit (short circuit) at the output, the adapter instantly turns off and tries to turn on again after a few seconds. The cycle occurs until the short circuit is eliminated or the power supply is not disconnected from the external network. In general, fairly standard work of this type of power supply. It fully performs its function.
Inside the power supply is filled with heat-resistant sealant. Soldering is mediocre, capacitors and other elements of circuitry are good. The date 2013.05.31 is on the board, which indicates that this D68 AI Rev: 02 model went into the series 5 years ago. There are few radiators (aluminum), therefore, the model heats up under prolonged load, but not very much, since the output power is not very large.
The model is sold in different design and performance options. There are for cars, there is with a different sticker and there is with a different set of plugs. In general, a good universal model to replace a burned-out power supply. Due to its versatility, it will allow charging both modern ultrabooks and some laptops. Another power supply model is the QDION QD-C65. This model is a universal charger with a USB Type-C connector. It comes in a small, simple package. Its main purpose is to charge ultrabooks with a Type-C power connector, of which there are not so many, but the tendency to use this particular connector is visible to the naked eye. In addition, it is suitable for modern smartphones and tablets, as it has an output voltage of 5 to 20 V.

The power adapter itself, a non-removable cord with a USB Type-C connector and a power cable are included in the package for the power supply. The basic information is located on the package, however, in addition to this model, a brief instruction manual is supplied.
In its size and color scheme, the QDION QD-C65 is more like power supplies for routers or small laptops. The size of the unit is very compact, and since FSP is often an OEM manufacturer for companies, most likely this power supply is also branded for PC manufacturers (for example, for Lenovo and ASUS). On one side there is a sticker with detailed parameters. It should be noted that in general the series of these power supplies includes not only models with a USB Type-C connector, but also with ordinary plugs. All have an automatic output voltage regulator. According to the specification, the maximum current is 3.2A at 20 V. The range of output voltages is from 5 to 20.3 V. Moreover, for each voltage, the power supply itself selects the optimal charge current.
The power supply is designed to supply power to almost any modern device, powered by a Type-C connector. A good solution is to give the power supply a separate wire, which allows you to insert it into any outlet. The power supply housing is almost cast, the design is very successful. A wire with a Type-C connector at the end has a decent length and is in itself well made.
If it speaks of the output of this block, then they are very far from the declared ones. None of the tested devices failed to achieve the declared power indicators. In addition, due to the lack of support for the fast charging function (for example, QuickCharge for Qualcomm), modern phones and tablets with this power supply will charge more slowly than on their own charge. When working under load and prolonged use, the power supply heats up.

The price of the model is still unknown, and it is not on the company's website either, but tentatively it is about 20-25 euros. At first glance, this power supply will be in demand on the market, due to the advent of many devices with Type-C connectors, and due to its versatility, it will allow charging both tablets and phones, as well as modern ultrabooks.
